Camping nights, hike miles, and service hours count toward rank. Enter them from your Scout’s Scoutbook page, or from the Scouting app with the same login. A troop leader still has to approve what you submit.

Add the activity
- Sign in at Scoutbook and open your Scout.
- Choose Service Hours, Camping, or Hikes.
- Click Create or Join.
- Join a troop activity on a day marked with a light-blue box, or create a personal activity. A personal activity is not shared with the rest of the troop.
- For a troop activity, scroll to the bottom and enter your Scout’s numbers. For a new activity, fill in every field marked with * and click Create Activity.
- Click Join Activity.
What to enter
- Service: hours.
- Camping: days and nights.
- Hikes: miles, lowest point, and highest point.
The activity stays Pending Approval until a troop leader approves it. That is expected. It is not a sign that the entry failed.
